Cookie Policy

WHAT ARE COOKIES?

Cookies and other similar technologies such as local shared objects, flash cookies or pixels, are tools used by web servers to store and retrieve information about their visitors, as well as to ensure the proper functioning of the site.

Through the use of these devices, the web server can remember some data about the user, such as their preferences for viewing pages on that server, username and password, products they are most interested in, etc.

COOKIES SUBJECT TO REGULATION AND EXEMPT COOKIES

According to the EU directive, cookies that require the informed consent of the user are analytical, advertising, and affiliate cookies, while technical cookies and those necessary for the operation of the website or for the provision of services expressly requested by the user are exempt.

WHAT TYPES OF COOKIES EXIST?

ACCORDING TO PURPOSE

  • Technical and functional cookies: These allow the user to browse a website, platform, or application and use the various options or services available on it, such as controlling data traffic and communication, identifying the session, accessing restricted areas, remembering order details, processing purchase orders, registering or participating in events, using security elements during navigation, storing content for video or audio distribution, or sharing content through social networks. They include personalization cookies, which allow the user to access the service with certain general characteristics predefined according to a series of criteria on the user’s device, such as language, browser type, regional configuration from which the service is accessed, etc.
  • Analytical cookies: These enable their manager to monitor and analyze user behavior on websites to which they are linked. The information collected through these cookies is used to measure website, application, or platform activity and to create browsing profiles for users of those sites, applications, and platforms, in order to introduce improvements based on analysis of usage data by service users.
  • Advertising cookies: These allow for the most effective management possible of advertising spaces that, where appropriate, the editor has included on a website, application, or platform from which the requested service is provided, based on criteria such as the edited content or the frequency of ads shown.
  • Behavioral advertising cookies: These collect information on user preferences and personal choices (retargeting) to allow the most effective management possible of advertising spaces that, where appropriate, the publisher has included on a website, application, or platform from which they provide the requested service. More info at: http://www.lssi.gob.es/Paginas/politica-cookies.aspx and Guide on the use of cookies from AEPD.
  • Social cookies: These are set by social media platforms in the services to allow you to share content with your friends and networks. Social media platforms have the ability to track your online activity outside the Services. This may affect the content and messages you see on other services you visit.
  • Affiliate cookies: These enable tracking of visits from other websites, with which the website has established an affiliate contract (affiliate companies).
  • Security cookies: These store encrypted information to prevent data stored in them from being vulnerable to malicious attacks from third parties. They are used only with HTTPS connections.

ACCORDING TO OWNERSHIP

  • Own cookies: These are those sent to the user’s device from a device or domain managed by the editor themselves and from which the service requested by the user is provided.
  • Third-party cookies: These are sent to the user’s device from a device or domain not managed by the editor, but by another entity that processes data obtained through cookies.

ACCORDING TO STORAGE PERIOD

  • Session cookies: These are designed to collect and store data while the user accesses a website.
  • Persistent cookies: These are cookies in which the data remains stored on the device and can be accessed and processed for a period defined by the cookie manager, which can range from a few minutes to several years.
